friends of all kinds...

last week while bobby was still on vacation, we decided to get out and see some friends - some furry and some not! here are some photos from our adventures with our friends of all kinds...
on wednesday (yes, i said wednesday) there was not ONE parking spot to be had near the como zoo. so for the first time EVER, the withers family took the como zoo shuttle. not too bad...except for the waiting (which is better-walking from new zealand or waiting for a shuttle with impatient children?)
 our giraffe friends
having some fun at como town afterwards...

first time on the dragon rollercoaster for sophia and me!

 ----
after the zoo, bobby was not ready to go home, so we decided to make a trip into wisconsin to the "fawn doe rosa" to feed some furry friends
can you see the fawns in the background?

 some more deer friends

is that not the cutest baby skunk you have ever seen? her name is daisy...
----
on sunday we met up with our friends (paul, laurie, and owen) for some fun! the kids tried out the new splash pad in cottage grove...how cool is that?

waiting for the bucket to fall on them...
 here it comes!
can't you just HEAR her squeal of delight?
our adorable, godson owen...thanks for all the fun, mordorski family!
as always, bobby's vacation always goes by WAY too quickly (i am sure he agrees with me on that one)...but we are so grateful to have spent time together as a family and seen so many friends on his days off!

"sparkly" adventures on diamond lake...

we left for uncle scott and aunt lisa's cabin on the 4th of july. We were excited to get to the cabin to enjoy "lake living" for a few days. Here are some pictures from our many "sparkly adventures"
on diamond lake...
happy 4th of july!

even flip-flops to match (we made these a few days before the trip)
and we're off!

i think they are ready for some fun!
my dad bought a "monster tube" for our trip. it turned out to be great fun (can you see bobby in this picture?),
until...
we flipped the tube on the second day. no harm was done, but the girls were a little more nervous riding afterwards (okay, so was i)...
lots of waving to fellow lake goers, especially during the 4th of july boat parade

this was my winning shot...we played swedish golf, bocce ball, and bean bags throughout the long weekend
the girls ADORED scott and lisa's furry friends - zoe and gracie
adventures at the "big kahuna" in spicer

and pizza at zorbaz's...

a spin around the lake...

too much fun makes anyone tired!
fishing with grandpa and daddy was a highlight of the weekend!

beautiful scenery, delicious food, awesome weather, and delightful family members made for a memorable and enjoyable vacation on diamond lake...
