what to do...

so, what is there to do when it is -100 degrees outside? well, we try to keep busy and this month it seems like we have been stuck inside A LOT. Here are some of the inside adventures we had these past few weeks. Enjoy!

 so proud of her!
this is pretty much ALL livia has been doing for the past month...and i am not joking!
these are only a few of her many creations she has made on her loom...i guess we could call her "Livia the Loom Lover"
pajama day at school...her school was celebrating "Frozen Friday"
 sophia getting her nails done...

nothing better than pretty nails and subway for lunch!
LOTS of art projects...we decided to each draw and color ourselves (it is hard to tell but each picture is almost to scale)
 having fun with our food

under the sea...

we met up with our good friends, the mordorski family, for a little fun "under the sea". We started at Sea Life Adventures, spent quite a bit of time at Build-A-Bear, and then ended with a lovely lunch at the Kokomo Restaurant. The kids were great (so were the adults)...I guess you could say that things went swimmingly!
a stop off at bubba gump shrimp for a photo op

let's just hope that all our warm adventures will help warm up the temperatures outside!
thanks for another memorable day mordorski family!

dancy dance time...

two weeks ago livia and sophia participated in the hutchinson showstopper's clinic. Basically the girls practiced with the Varsity and JV Dance Team and learned a dance routine. Both girls were supposed to have one more practice and then perform during half time the following week. Well, winter hit and things quickly came to a standstill. Both the practice and performance were canceled and the girls were devastated - there were actual tears. But, the Dance Team coach finagled one more day when all the girls (big and small) could practice and perform for their families. Here are the pictures from that showstopping evening!
ladies, daddy, for the lovely roses!
 getting ready...
hanging out with their buddy, elizabeth

thrills and chills...

oh, hello! Happy New Year to you! We have had a nice start to 2014...even with the cold temperatures. We have definitely had some chills recently- Polar Vortex anyone? Aside from all that cold weather, we have also been keeping busy with some indoor fun. Here are some pictures from some of our thrills in the new year. Enjoy!
bobby and i went out to eat on new year's eve...thank you to auntie susan for babysitting! it was a thrill to have some adult time alone.

snow day last week
 it was BEARY chilly outside!

the girls were thrilled with my healthy kabobs
 ---
this weekend we tried out the big thrill factory in the cities...we had over 2 hours of indoor fun.
the best part was that we arrived so early that we had the entire complex to ourselves for the first hour!
 laser tag
this is what it looked like inside the laser tag arena

 spinning bumper cars
 the high ropes obstacle course

back to round 2 of laser tag- everyone's favorite!
chillin' out on the indoor play set

back to the ropes for one more round of fun...
we all had a thrilling time and it was a wonderful way to spend some time together indoors away from the chilling weather!
